Apartment 7, North Quay

Lovely apartment just poorly maintained.<br/>- heating wasn’t on when we arrived when outside temperature was below freezing so flat was cold<br/>-heater in lounge didn’t work & room was cold. This resulted in numerous phone calls where we weren’t contacted by the building owner until Sunday night (we arrived Saturday at 5pm) who was unable to anything anyway<br/>-fan heater in lounge was under the TV and the heat had warped the TV plastic causing a dark shadow on the screen when in use. ?fire hazard<br/>- no Freeview on TV <br/>- Wi-Fi didn’t work<br/>- bedroom lamps in smaller bedroom didn’t stay on consistently just flashed on and off (really weird)<br/>- wall hanging unit in second bedroom had come away from the wall<br/>- the front door security lock didn’t work<br/>Such a shame as the flat was very spacious, clean, comfortable but the heater issue really marred our stay. <br/>Also the communication between Air B&B and Host &Stay was really ineffective!

Good location<br/>Issues with the following:<br/>Cleanliness of crockery and cutlery.<br/>Smart TV only allowed streaming - something we are not familiar with, no access to terrestrial TV.<br/>Used front door security on arrival, then it was apparent that security not working so front door was accessible to anyone at any time of day.<br/>Most of all the shower was a safety hazard. The floor was extremely slippery and there was no grab rail nor a safety mat I bought my own safety mat on day 2.<br/>All of these issues were raised with the company by phone, only response was to confirm that the TV was a Smart TV.

We loved the location - perfect for sea glass hunting. And everything we needed was within a short walk. Highly recommend it.

Great location in Seaham in relation to the beaches<br/>Some nice cafes and shops along the same street the flat was on <br/>And not bad views from the apartment<br/>1. Wifi didn't work on arrival and we had to ring up to get an alternative network <br/>2. There is no freeview on the TV and no Ariel , you can only use the apps to watch programs which were painfully slow and unreliable.<br/>3. There was a socket hanging out behind the Tv with live connections exposed <br/>4. The shower was useless , no pressure and tepid <br/>5. General fit and finish of the flat was very poor , cupboards all at different heights and angles and wonky <br/>6. One of the towels had a massive hole in it <br/>7. There are no curtains only blinds so you are up with the sun and not good for getting kids to bed !<br/>But by far the worse thing is the noise from the pub / club next door on the Friday and Saturday nights , it was like a rave was happening in the flat until 1am in the morning , really distressing when you have young tied kids !<br/>Overall very disappointing for the money .

Stunning location, literally right across from the beach. Beautiful view from windows. Apartment was very clean and tidy upon arrival and it thoughtfully provided tea and coffee. Apartment was spacious and very close to cafes, the seas, marina, and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. Very close to supermarkets. Kitchen was reasonably well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils.<br/>Communication once we arrived was not great. There was an issue with the hot water, in which there was absolutely no hot water at all for over 30 hours; I called to ask to help, was directed to leave a message, and was never contacted by anyone at all to sort the problem. Additionally, the "free WiFi" didn't work at all, and my mother had been counting on getting some work done while at the property. No soap was provided at all to wash one's hands in the bathroom---we had to go out and purchase our own hand soap---, and likewise no dish soap, hand soap or sponges were provided in the kitchen.

The apartment was very central. <br/>It was clean and well appointed. <br/>The beds were comfortable. <br/>Lots of hot water.<br/>Friday night was noisy. One of the bars had some sort of a disco going on!

The places was in an amazing location and there was parking in back. The apartment was spacious and clean. You could see the ocean and restaurants were right next door. The area gets quiet at night, which is peaceful. The only downside was the lack of toilet paper and products to clean/wipe things down.

Location is excellent. Rooms bright and airy. Flat comfortable Perfect for a short break. Plenty of instant hot water. What a bonus.<br/>Obvious that the hosts have never lived/stayed at the property. Drains in the bathroom stank quite vile. Dishwasher so badly installed that the door doesn’t open down properly so the bottom rack has to be filled and emptied at a difficult angle. Whole kitchen has been badly installed which is a shame as the brochure boasts about some fab design team who designed the interior furnishings. Sofa doesn’t fit flush to the wall as the radiator fitted off centre but never mind! Crockery could have been cleaner so we just cleaned everything we planned to use before we used it and kept it separated. Cooker hob was a complete nuisance with its stupid child lock which took us an hour to turn off due to instruction sheet covered in mould. Would have helped to have a quick 123 guide stuck to a tile. WiFi rubbish. Couldn’t even get it to connect but thankfully the guy that we rang for assistance gave us access to a different system

Location great. Facilities good. Excellent traditional Fish and chip shop beside.<br/>Parking ! Someone in our space the whole time. Told not resident!!

We really enjoyed our getaway to Seaham! We came for the seaglass and loved the cozy small town vibe just below the apartment. Most of the town seems to shut down fairly early (6p) with a couple of restaurants as exceptions. <br/>We did have difficulty initially locating the apartment and the parking area, however Stay, the hosting company, was very responsive and helpful to our needs. While there is convenience of self check-in, we do prefer being able to connect with the host/a representative for a more personalized experience. We didn't find out until the end of our stay (from the housekeeper) that there was an entrance to the building from the parking lot. This would have been helpful to know sooner, as walking in an unlit alley isn't the most comfortable experience.

Explanation on where to park car and get access to the keys. Such as you access to the property first and this will give you access to the fob to access the parking this could of been explained in more detail

The property is directly opposite the beach and a car park which is free. Great location, modern and very clean!

Beautiful and spacious apartment. Good car parking. Excellent communication from the owner. Good value. Very pleased overall.<br/>A couple of minor niggles but they were tiny in relation to the overall quality of the apartment.

very nice apartment<br/>no bath mat for shower, the non slip plastic type, was very slippery. TV was hard to work, but didn’t need it much. More shelving in smaller bedroom & perhaps something to put shower gel in, had to leave on floor in shower

Excellent location, Clean Bean close by, comfy bed, clean & parking a bonus.<br/>Front door unlocked at all times. Apart from that, no complaints.

Location was excellent<br/>Very poor value for money, cheaply fitted out. For the money I expected it to be much higher quality.

Close to beach

Beautiful apartment with water views, we watched the sunrise from the bedroom window. Great location, restaurants and cafes on your doorstep, walking distance to supermarkets. The seaside just across the road. The apartment was roomy, clean and comfortable. The only downside was that we had no hotwater for two days, this was reported to the contact who were quick to respond but the issue was not rectified before the end of our stay. Would still recommend booking a stay here.

Superb

The property was ideally located and looked like it had been recently refurbished to a high standard. It was very clean and comfortable. The private parking was an advantage.<br/>For us a ground floor apartment would have been ideal - as one of the party has mobility issues. However, we knew it was first floor when booking and the other positive aspects outweighed this.

Beautifully appointed apartment on the sea front. Great location for access to the beach, Durham Heritage coast. Lots of food options very close by. Walking distance from the station and very close to bus routes to Sunderland and Durham

I got used to it but it made my first night difficult as stopped me getting a good nights sleep. Think a blackout blind would be good for those not used to street lights!

Walking in to the apartment immediately felt luxurious. Nicely finished & great location. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again!

Warm, modern & clean apartment. Well placed close to shops, window overlooking sea front & also close to main bus stop.<br/>Difficult coinciding the code to getting the door open in time; it needed the two of us. One to put the code in & the other to push the front door. There was a smoke alarm battery needed replacing in the main hall to the apartments; it bleeped all the way through our stay. It was muffled by our apartment door & walls, but still could still hear it. Comfort: the sofa was at right angles, which meant you needed to watch the TV screen permanently from the side-it became quite uncomfortable after a while. We could see this was planned by a furniture designer. We turned on the light in the corner, rather than the main light. It shone in our eyes whilst we were sitting with cricked necks on the sofa so we switched that off again. Quite funny actually.

location is literally perfect, decor and layout was lovely, amazing bathroom and bedroom. communication from staff was great, very helpful with questions, parking was ideal, all round a great little apartment!<br/>Upon arrival the kitchen wasn’t completely clean, the mugs and saucepans in the cupboard were a bit dirty, cutlery was stained and sink had crumbs, but that isn’t the fault of the staff, the previous people clearly didn’t clean up after themselves well. Also the kitchen could do with a few more utensils, there’s no spatulas or tongs, which made a few meals a bit tricky, but that was really the only issues we had!

The apartment has a great location on the sea front, near the beach and near cafes, pubs and places to eat. <br/>It is well-appointed and well furnished. We plan to return!

Location excellent. Comfortable apartment with everything we needed.<br/>The apartment was cold when we arrived with no heating on - some of the heaters didn't seem to work. It was fine when we got a few fired up though.

Lovely and stylish well situated flat. Right on the seafront and lots of cafes on your doorstep. Beds were very comfy and flat was generally well equipped. Some basic cleaning products would have been helpful. In all a lovely stay.

Warm clean & comfortable apartment<br/>TV initially would not pick up any channels until it was switched off at the wall to reset it. Settee should be up against the back wall facing the tv to make it more comfortable to watch tv

We had to be in the north east for a week for work (me) plus surgery (OH). This was the perfect solution. Sea views, immaculately clean, close to all amenities. Sunderland hospital where he had his op is a 15 minute drive so it was easy to go for visiting hours and a quick drive to bring him back to the flat to recuperate for a couple of days before we went home. Really well equipped too, they’ve thought of everything. Easy to get hold of too for example when I forgot the code for the key box as we were leaving, rang up and sorted straight away.

This is a great apartment - brilliant location with views of the sea. The property is nicely presented, clean and well stocked. The communication has been impeccable before, during and after the stay. I will definitely return.

Hubby and I were looking for a property to stay at while visiting a friend in Murton. This property is obviously newly renovated and is fully updated. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great - although it's that new modern "no enclosure" type shower where the water gets everywhere.<br><br>The decor is really nice! The coffee table was a conversation piece and there was definite thought on how to make it comfortable and attractive. My only caution would be that if you are looking for it to be perfectly quiet - that won't happen because of being located on the seafront. Weekend pub crawlers can be easily heard outside on the street. It wasn't an issue for us at all; we would stay there again in a heartbeat.<br><br>Only complaint was that after booking, you'll get contacted from the property management asking you to put down a credit card or pay an extra 25 pounds to cover damages. This made me nervous although I haven't seen any additional charges. I did take pictures as soon as we got in so that the small amounts of damages were documented "just in case."

The best thing about the apartment is the location. Bars & restaurants just a 5 min walk. The beach & Marina nearby too. The apartment itself is extremely spacious and clean. We didn't eat in much but the kitchen was kitted out with everything you may need. Bathroom huge. I would definitely recommend.<br/>The entrance door was a bit fiddly but we got used to it. We would have preffered a better view out of window but as we were out most of the time wasn't too much of a issue.

Wonderful property! You can see the sea from the front room and main bedroom. It was the perfect space to stay while visiting Seaham. The communication was spot on and the flat was spotless. Thank you!
